Her life changed immeasurably when her father, a fisherman, was killed amidst a struggle between the established fisherman and the group of recently arrived Vietnamese fisherman in Seadrift. She went on to study at Del Mar College, has worked in a variety of fields, and can be seen in the documentary Seadrift. Beth now lives in Seguin, Texas.
