Having recently joined the University of Leeds as Head of Conferences and Events, Sam shares with us what he has learned from the managers he has worked with over the years and his own unique approach to leadership. It is a passion for delivering exceptional events and raising money for not-for-profit organisations that led Sam to the higher education sector, having previously worked in a range of unique venues, including West Ham United Football Club, London’s Science Museum, HM Tower of London, Chiswick House, and Gardens all before first entering higher education at the Royal College of Music.  In addition to his role at Leeds, Sam is a board director for Academic Venue Solutions, the leading UK marketing consortium for academic venues and is the Chair of the Meeting Industry Association (MIA) academic peer group.
