She Likes It Heavy_Show 329_111219

0:25-8:25 SCHAMMASCH (Switzerland) Katabasis — Chanting, meditative, guttural throat carving, experimental, strange, weirdo black metal. 9:21-14:35 TR/ST (Toronto) Iris — TR/ST (formerly Trust) have been around for 10 years, and I am just learning to completely fall head over heels with the meteor-shower vocalist and romantic synth backdrop. Achingly lovely dark wave. 15:03-19:29 RORCAL (Switzerland) Carnations were not the smell of death. They were the smell of desire — Rorcal's song titles are masterpieces themselves. Thick pummeling drums in a vicious black and death metal and abrasive core. 19:56-27:03 VIALS OF WRATH (TN) With distance — A spectrum of tragic and sweet with black metal guitars and a slice of raw grieving vocals. 27:36-37:31 IAPETUS (NY) The Body Cosmic — Each song is a textural journey that comes out of a parallel world. 37:56-43:58 PIST (UK) Fools Gave Chase — Punk rock with heavy metal ballads and a sharp-edged hardcore vocalist. They love the slow-down energized with unique riffs. 45:00-50:52 SARKE (Norway) Cribs Hand — Supergroup with a theatrical Lemmy-sounding vocalist of Darkthrone, with symphonic peppering of ballad sweetness. 51:30-END BHLEG (Sweden) Från eld till aska — A great balance of melancholy stringed folk and black metal with an alien vocalist.
