Brian Anderson: Co-Founder of Fathering Together

Brian Anderson is a husband and father to two spirited daughters that keep him inspired and exhausted every day. In his professional life, he has been a social worker, community organizer, university chaplain and interfaith leadership development consultant. As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Fathering Together, he brings those experiences to empowering fathers to be agents for social change. He has worked with dads from a variety of backgrounds to help them achieve deeper relationships with their families and connections in their work and communities. He wears many hats, specifically as a coach for dads, spiritual director, community organizer and non-profit leader. In our conversation today, we will be covering the start of the Fathering Together non-profit, his book “Fathering Together: One dad’s journey to building a village and the current “This Working Dad cares” campaign. As I am a big believer that unpaid care work is for everyone, I was really appreciative that Brian shared some insights from his attendance at the recent Power Plus Summit at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. How to connect with Brian: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/briananderson80/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/fathering-together/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fatheringtogether/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/FatherTogether Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fatheringtogether What we spoke about: 3:11 Start of Fathering Together 6:55 Most surprising aspect of Fathering Together 10:41 Fathering Together Book 15:02 Transferable Skills 18:45 "This Working Dad Cares" campaign 26:15 Future of Work in 5-10 years If you would like to support the podcast: Ko-fi Account: Ko-fi.com/karintischler How to connect with Karin Tischler, producer and podcast host of "Job Sharing and Beyond", and founder of Emily's Path Consulting (EPC): Website: https://emilyspath.ca/ LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/karin-tischler/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jobsharingandbeyond/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/JobsharingByond Twitter: https://twitter.com/karin_tischler Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/karintischlerbc/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/emilyspathca/?viewAsMember=true
