Overcoming Internal-Stigma
It may be the 21st century and we may have come a long way with so many issues, but there remains a lot of stigma around the issue of mental illness.  Stigma keeps mental health chained by fear, the fear of others finding out.  And for those of us who have a mental health challenge we are not exempt from this stigma even within ourselves. 
In this edition of Fresh Hope for Mental Health Jason Petersen (www.JasonPetersen.com) and host, Pastor Brad Hoefs discuss issues such as overcoming the internal-stigma that those of us who have a diagnosis find within ourselves about our mental health challenges.

Pastor Brad Hoefs, host of Fresh Hope for Mental Health, is the founder of Fresh Hope Ministries, a network of Christian mental health support groups for those who have a diagnosis and their loved ones. In other words, Fresh Hope is a Christian mental health support group.
 
Brad was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1995. He is a weekly blogger for www.bphope.us (Bipolar Magazine). He is also a certified peer specialist and has been doing pastoral counseling since 1985.
