184: Risk or opportunity?
On today’s episode of The Elegant Warrior podcast, I cover a crucial concept in the process of beginning to be your own advocate: the risk versus opportunity matrix.  Sometimes, some people can be put off from advocating for themselves because they perceive the risk as being too great. When you ask your boss for a raise, or try to lay down a boundary with a tricky family member, you may be worried about risking a close relationship or making a fool of yourself. It’s natural to be averse to risk; in fact, it’s part of the human condition.  However, being averse to risk can mean that you stay stuck in the same place, not getting the things you want for yourself. I know what it feels like to take a risk - and to lose! - and I want you to know that people who take risks are generally more satisfied in life. I explain how to reframe your thinking around risks and opportunities so that you feel ready to take a risk in life and to be your own advocate.
