Three Truths About a Disciple . . .
 
1.  A disciple is one who responds to the call of Christ on his/her life.
(Matthew 5:19-20)
·         Initiated by God’s grace.
o   He calls, I respond. 
“Discipleship is not an offer that man makes to Christ.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship)
 
2.  A disciple is one who, after counting the cost, sees Jesus as worth it. (Luke 9:57-62)
·         Being a disciple of Christ is costly.
 
“When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship)
 
3.  A disciple is one who seeks a constant relational pursuit of knowing Jesus more.
(Philippians 3:7-11)
