  <title>Stars and Exoplanets</title>
<description>A&amp;amp;nbsp;star&amp;amp;nbsp;is an&amp;amp;nbsp;astronomical object&amp;amp;nbsp;comprising a luminous&amp;amp;nbsp;spheroid&amp;amp;nbsp;of&amp;amp;nbsp;plasma&amp;amp;nbsp;held together by&amp;amp;nbsp;self-gravity. The&amp;amp;nbsp;nearest star&amp;amp;nbsp;to&amp;amp;nbsp;Earth&amp;amp;nbsp;is the&amp;amp;nbsp;Sun. Many other stars are visible to the naked eye at&amp;amp;nbsp;night, but their immense distances from Earth make them appear as&amp;amp;nbsp;fixed&amp;amp;nbsp;points of light. The most prominent stars have been categorised into&amp;amp;nbsp;constellations&amp;amp;nbsp;and&amp;amp;nbsp;asterisms, and many of the brightest stars have&amp;amp;nbsp;proper names.&amp;amp;nbsp;Astronomers&amp;amp;nbsp;have assembled&amp;amp;nbsp;star catalogues&amp;amp;nbsp;that identify the known stars and provide standardized&amp;amp;nbsp;stellar designations. The&amp;amp;nbsp;observable universe&amp;amp;nbsp;contains an estimated&amp;amp;nbsp;1022&amp;amp;nbsp;to&amp;amp;nbsp;1024&amp;amp;nbsp;stars. Only about 4,000 of these stars are visible to the naked eye,[1]&amp;amp;nbsp;all within the&amp;amp;nbsp;Milky Way&amp;amp;nbsp;galaxy. Our theme song was written and performed by Anna Bosnick.
