Deana Haggag is the President &amp;amp;amp; CEO of United States Artists, a national arts funding organization based in Chicago, IL.&amp;amp;nbsp;Before joining USA in February 2017, she was the Executive Director of The Contemporary, a nomadic and non-collecting art museum in Baltimore, MD, for four years.&amp;amp;nbsp;In addition to her leadership roles,&amp;amp;nbsp;Deana lectures extensively,&amp;amp;nbsp;consults on various art initiatives, contributes to cultural publications, and has taught at institutions such as Towson University and Johns Hopkins University. She is on the Advisory Board of Recess&amp;amp;nbsp;and Council of Common Field,&amp;amp;nbsp;and has served as a member of the Affiliates Board for the Museums and Society Program at Johns Hopkins University and StageOne/FANS council at the Baltimore School for the Arts.&amp;amp;nbsp;She received her MFA in Curatorial Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a BA from Rutgers University in Art History and Philosophy. &amp;amp;nbsp; She is proudly a first-generation Egyptian-American Muslim woman of Afro-Arab descent. She currently lives between Chicago and Baltimore. &amp;amp;nbsp;  </description>
