194. White House Addresses Meat Industry Consolidation & USDA Announces $1.4 Billion in Grants for Food Workers and Small Businesses
The White House announced its intent to address the effects meat processing industry consolidation on consumers, farmers and ranchers. Then, USDA announced $700 million for the COVID-19 Farmworker and Food Worker Relief Grant Program and $650 million in Pandemic Response and Safety Grants for small business producers.
