This really kicks off my Christmas season, and I have some phenomenal music headed your way. I\u2019ll be focusing on Shoji Suzuki the rest of this month. Although Akira Ishikawa sparked my interest in Japanese Christmas music, Shoji Suzuki\u2019s music is easily as responsible for turning it into an obsession. Join me next time for his 1963 album, \u201cMerry Christmas,\u201d then listen in on the 25th for his \u201cSwingin\u2019 Christmas,\u201d which is one of my absolute favorite albums. Then be sure to listen in each week in December as I cover some of the best and most interesting albums in my collection. I\u2019ll start off the month with the Meiji Gakuin University Glee Club\u2019s 10th anniversary performance of Bach\u2019s Christmas Oratorio. After that, I\u2019ll cover a really outstanding late 60s children\u2019s album, \u201cChristmas Song\/New Year\u2019s Song.\u201d Trust me when I say it\u2019s one you have to hear. Then listen in for Kayo Ishu\u2019s outstanding \u201cScat Christmas.\u201d I\u2019ll close out the year with a pair of albums that have to be heard to be believed. Don\u2019t forget to check my show notes for each episode. I\u2019ll be posting the covers of the singles associated with that episode\u2019s album. This time around, it\u2019s Shoji Suzuki\u2019s \u201cBlue Christmas\u201d coupled with Motomichi Ito\u2019s \u201cJingle Bells.\u201d As far as I can tell, it\u2019s the only single taken from \u201cX\u2019mas All Star Jazz Parade.\u201d As always, any feedback on this episode would be appreciated.
