Her commentary has been broadcast on CBS and NPR, and published in the Huffington Post where her \u201cOpen Letter to Paula Deen\u201d went viral. Her book, \u201cGlory Days: 365 Inspired Moments in African American History,\u201d was licensed by McDonald\u2019s and reached more than 3 million readers. Engaged by history since childhood, a northern school desegregation pioneer at 8, she was one of the four children selected to break New York\u2019s \u201cde facto\u201d public school segregation in the wake of Brown v. Board of Education.  A classically-trained pianist, she is a graduate of New York\u2019s High School of Performing Arts.  Her master\u2019s is the nation\u2019s first graduate degree in Black Studies.  Her doctoral chair was author and composer Shirley Graham Du Bois (widow of Dr. W. E. B. Du Bois, the \u201cFather of Pan-Africanism\u201d and co-founder of the NAACP).  Dr. Adams was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Shaw University.
