{"version":1,"type":"rich","provider_name":"Libsyn","provider_url":"https:\/\/www.libsyn.com","height":90,"width":600,"title":"God Is or God Is Not","description":" \n \nColossians 2:6-8\n \n \n \nThe World As We See It . . .\n \nSimply put, a worldview is how an individual views the world.\n \n \n \nFor the Christian, who claims to be a follower of Christ, the Bible is the foundation upon which our worldview is built.\n \n \n \nThe Starting Point . . .\n \nThe basic foundation of any worldview must start with a person’s view of God, and answering this question:  \n \n\n\nDoes God exist, or does He not exist?  God is or God is not.\n\n\n \n \n \nThe Three “isms” . . .\n \n\n\nAtheism—the belief or view that there is no God; the existence of God can be disproved.\n\n\nThe Dilemma:  burden of proof that God does not exist rests upon them.  \n \n\n\n\n\nAgnosticism—the belief or view that there may be a God or supreme being but such a God cannot be known.\n\n\nThe Dilemma:  they have exhausted all means in seeking to know God and have found Him to be unknowable.\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nTheism—the belief or view that there is a God.\n\n\n \n \n \nThe Pressing Question . . .\n \nIs belief in God rational?\n \n\n\n\nGod is beyond our comprehension, but not beyond being known.\n\n\n\n \n \n \nThe Revelation of God . . .\n \n\n\nGod has revealed Himself through general revelation.  (Acts 17:23-25; Romans 1:19-20)\n\n\nNature\/beauty of creation\n\n\nIntricate design\n\n\nOrder of universe\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\nGod has revealed Himself through specific revelation. (Colossians 1:15-20)\n\n\nThe Bible articulates clearly who God is.\n\n\nJesus Christ is the image of the invisible God.\n\n\nGod has revealed Himself with such clarity that all people are without excuse.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \nGod Is . . .\n \n\n\nGod is relational, which means He is personal.\n\n\nGod is righteous, which means He always does what is right.\n\n\nGod is ruler, which means He is sovereign.\n\n\n \n \n \nBecause God Is . . .\n \n\n\nBecause He is relational you can have a relationship with Him that is intimate and not distant.\n\n\nBecause He is righteous there is a way by which we can be forgiven of our sins and live a life that displays Christ-likeness.\n\n\nBecause He is ruler we must submit to His authority and the laws He has established.  \n\n\n ","author_name":"Crossgate Church Podcasts","author_url":"http:\/\/crossgate.libsyn.com","html":"
