His screen debut was the Emmy nominated film of The Trip to Bountiful, for which he received a DGA Award nomination. From 1998-2011, Michael served as Artistic Director of Hartford Stage, where he commissioned Quiara Alegria Hudes\u2019 Pulitzer Prize winning Water By The Spoonful.
