Join Robby Dilmore and Rabbi Chaim Eisen on Voices from Zion as we explore the biblical significance of Sukkot and the Jewish holidays we have just passed. From the prayers for rain that shift to prayers for dew, to the remarkable vision of life-giving waters flowing from the Temple in Ezekiel, we discover themes that reach from the pages of the Hebrew Scriptures into the teachings of Jesus and the prophetic hope of the nations. We also explore the connection between Sukkot and Thanksgiving, including the Pilgrims’ possible biblical inspiration, and examine Nehemiah’s powerful public reading of the Torah during the Jewish New Year season. Why does Zechariah prophesy that all nations will come to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot? What is the relationship between rain, living water, and the Messiah? And what might these ancient celebrations reveal about God’s purposes for Israel and the nations?
