Hello, and welcome to "Beauty and the Biz," where we'll discuss the business and marketing side of plastic surgery. As always, I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of "Your Aesthetic Practice \u2013 What Your Patients Are Saying." and consultant to plastic surgeons, helping them get more patients and more profits. Christopher Jeffries, MD, who has a medical spa and surgical practice in Michigan, explains how to build a stable team. Certainly, Dr. Christopher Jeffries is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Additionally, he built a healthy two-location practice and med spa in Traverse, Michigan. However, he did not accomplish this success alone. Specifically, one concept stood out during this "How to build a stable team" "podcast" interview. Namely, he develops good people rather than expecting fully developed hires. For instance, his practice manager is a perfect case study. First, she started working at the front desk. Next, she moved into a medical assistant role. Then, she learned different areas of the practice. Eventually, she became his practice manager. Furthermore, Dr. Jeffries made an interesting point about her career path. Otherwise, she probably would have left if they kept her in the original job. Instead, they consistently gave her new opportunities to grow. Truly, that is an important lesson right now. Currently, good employees are extremely difficult to find and keep. Undoubtedly, retaining your best people is not always about paying them more money. Rather, it involves recognizing their full potential. Also, it requires giving them a clear path to advance. Therefore, take another look at your current staff. Ideally, do this before looking outside your practice for your next great team member. Indeed, you might already employ an exceptional worker. Basically, they just need a bigger opportunity to shine. Ultimately, building a great practice means building a great team. Moreover, top doctors share their best lessons in "The Plastic Surgery Practice Growth Playbook". Consequently, they discuss hiring, developing and keeping the right people.
