Not the version of you that has been shaped and polished by degrees, training programs, and years of professional experience — though those things matter. But it runs deeper. Before you ever sat in a classroom or clocked into your first job, God planted something in you that was never meant to collect dust; lead with your gifts. Too many of us have spent years building lives around what we've learned while quietly setting aside what we've been given. We show up to work with our skill sets. We volunteer with our expertise. We check the boxes and do good work — and there's nothing wrong with that. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Maybe you told yourself they weren't practical. Maybe someone else told you they weren't enough. Maybe the world simply never made room for them, so you stopped making room for them too. But a learned skill and a God-given gift are not the same thing. Skills are built. Gifts are breathed into you by the One who formed you. Psalm 139:14 reminds us, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works." That verse isn't just about your physical body. It's about the fullness of who you were created to be — including every gift tucked inside of you before you ever took your first breath. So why do we let them sit there unused? Fear has a way of whispering just loud enough to make us second-guess what God has already confirmed. It doesn't always show up as full-blown terror. Sometimes it's subtle. It's the hesitation before you speak up. It's the thought that says, "Who am I to do that?" It's the quiet assumption that your gift isn't as valuable as someone else's skill. And over time, those whispers become beliefs. Those beliefs become habits. And those habits keep us playing small in a life that was designed for purpose. Here's what I want you to hear today: doubt didn't come from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." If fear and doubt are not from Him, then they have no authority over what He placed in you. None. The seeds of insecurity that were planted in your mind — whether by past failures, critical voices, or your own overthinking — those seeds were never meant to take root. And they certainly were never meant to choke out your calling. The K.I.S.S. ~ Lead with your gifts! Don't throw away what God has given you. I know it can feel risky to step into something that doesn't come with a certificate or a job title. But your gifts were never meant to fit neatly into a résumé. They were meant to flow through you and into the lives of the people around you. When you lead with your gifts, you're not performing. You're not proving yourself. You're fulfilling what you were made for. Yes, your learned skills have a place. They open doors. They pay bills. They allow you to serve in positions that make a real difference. But skills alone will leave you efficient without being fulfilled. When you lean only into what you've been trained to do and ignore what you've been called to do, you may look successful on the outside while something inside quietly aches for more. That ache isn't discontentment — it's your gift asking to be used. Think about what comes naturally to you. Not what you studied for. Not what you practiced until you got it right. What flows out of you without effort? What do people come to you for without you ever hanging a sign on the door? That's your gift. And it deserves more than a back seat. Maybe you've been using your skills to build someone else's vision while your own gift sits waiting for permission. Let today be the day you stop asking for permission and start walking in purpose. Romans 11:29 tells us, "For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable." He hasn't changed His mind about you. He hasn't reassigned your gift to someone more qualified. What He gave you is still yours — and it's still needed. Leading with your gifts doesn't mean abandoning your career or throwing away everything you've built. It means making sure that what God placed in you has an active seat at the table of your life. It means using your skills as the vehicle and your gifts as the compass. One gets you there. The other makes sure you're headed in the right direction. You were not created to simply get by. You were not given breath in your lungs and purpose in your spirit just to check off a to-do list and call it a life. You were made to lead — and the best way to lead is with what was given to you before the world ever had a say. Step into it. Trust it. Use it. Because when you lead with your gifts, you don't just change your own life. You create something that echoes into the lives of everyone around you. "Be present. Be incredible.
