If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there." (Psalm 139:7\u20138) Notice what this verse doesn't say. It doesn't say God is there when you're prepared for Him. It says there's nowhere you can go \u2014 not the mountaintop, not the depths \u2014 where He isn't already present. The depths matter here. That's not the polished version of your life. That's the version with the unpaid bills, the diagnosis, the argument you haven't resolved, the thing you're ashamed of. He's already there, before you even think to invite Him. Monday Isn't a Departure From Church \u2014 It's Where He Goes With You Jesus didn't tell His disciples He'd be with them during the service. He told them He'd be with them in the sending. "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20) "Always" doesn't pause for your commute, your inbox, your parenting fails, or your 2 a.m. worry spiral. It's a promise built for the ordinary stretch of days between Sundays \u2014 the part of life that doesn't feel spiritual because nothing dramatic is happening. That's exactly the part it's meant for. The French monk Brother Lawrence wrote about this centuries ago in The Practice of the Presence of God, describing how he came to sense God as much while scrubbing pots in a monastery kitchen as he did in prayer. He wrote: "We need only to recognize God intimately present with us, to address ourselves to Him every moment." He wasn't downgrading worship. He was pointing out that worship was never supposed to be contained to an hour. It was supposed to leak into the sink, the meeting, the grocery list \u2014 the unremarkable middle of an unremarkable Tuesday. The K.I.S.S. ~ The room is never empty! The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly \u2014 Not Just the Good It's easy to sense God in the good moments. The promotion, the answered prayer, the sunset that stops you in your tracks. It's harder \u2014 and far more important \u2014 to believe He's there in the bad and the ugly. The moments you'd rather He not witness. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10) This isn't a verse about God showing up after you've cleaned yourself up. It's a verse for the fear itself, the dismay itself, the moment you feel weakest and least presentable. He's not waiting outside that moment. He's holding you up inside it. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8) Never leave. Never forsake. Not "leave when it gets ugly." Not "step back until you've sorted yourself out." The presence is constant precisely because your mess is constant \u2014 it's not a disqualifier, it's the very terrain He walks with you through. Stop Fumbling Through Days You Weren't Meant to Carry Alone Here's the shift worth making: your day isn't something you hand God the highlights of afterward. It's something you walk with Him from the first decision to the last. That doesn't mean every day looks like a prayer meeting. It means the presence you sensed on Sunday isn't supposed to evaporate by Monday morning. It's supposed to move with you into the meeting you're dreading, the conversation you've been avoiding, the quiet drive home when nobody's watching and you're tempted to think you're on your own. You're not. You never were. "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence." (Psalm 16:11) The room is never empty. Not the boardroom, not the waiting room, not the room in your own head where the hardest conversations happen. He's already there \u2014 not waiting for an invitation, but waiting for you to notice He never left. "Be present. Be incredible.
