His deep public policy background also includes leadership positions with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Restaurant Association, AT&amp;amp;T, and Amtrak, following an early career as an Illinois House of Representatives staffer.    A dedicated civic leader, Mr. Pepper is a trustee of  Knox College, a member of the University of Illinois System presidential search committee, and the former Chairman of the Board for The Civic Federation.
