A proud graduate of Denver East High School and former player at Colorado State University, Carey went on to become a transformative coach at both Manual High School and Denver East. Over his decades-long career, he has won multiple state championships and, in 2022, became Colorado\u2019s all-time winningest boys\u2019 basketball coach. Beyond his record-breaking victories, Carey is known for mentoring generations of young men \u2014 emphasizing discipline, education, and character as much as athletic skill. Many of his players have gone on to college and professional careers, carrying forward his lessons of excellence and accountability.
