The Stanley Jones story tells us why!
Thank you for your 15 minutes today and in my many years in broadcasting and in business performance coaching I've often taken a very different view of how things get started and how they matter. Just recently I was challenged about the validity of a project and I reminded them of a very powerful principle that most people in life don't remember or forget. Pontius Pilate reminded us that Jesus was the man. Just one man.! Please let the truth of that sit on your head for a while and take time to listen to my story. It may even help you to live differentl/ more fully alive, starting now. And then I asked STOSH the robot ... To give his commentary on the show and here's what he provided... The Power of One: Lessons from Stanley Jones and the Legacy of Fully Alive Living By Stan the Radio Man | Stanley Jones Radio School Could it be that all you really need is the power of one? That’s the question we explored in this edition of the Stanley Jones Radio School for Fully Alive Living. It’s a theme that’s quietly, persistently echoed throughout the life and legacy of E. Stanley Jones—one of the most profound missionary evangelists of the 20th century. As I reflect on this program, I find myself encouraged, reminded, and once again amazed by the powerful ripple effect one life can have on the world. This session wasn’t just about the life of a great man—it was a call to remember that we, too, can be the one. A Legacy Built One Person at a Time Stanley Jones’ worldwide influence began with humble origins: a single young man touched by a pastor’s invitation and the quiet, faithful presence of one Sunday school teacher—Nellie Logan. She knelt beside him at the altar, comforted him, and unknowingly lit a fire that would stretch across continents. Later, it was one host family at Asbury College that introduced him to India. One person, one connection, one invitation—each moment a thread woven into a tapestry of global impact. And we see that same thread carried forward by his wife, Mabel Lossing Jones, who partnered with him in both mission and message. That’s the spirit of what we’re trying to honor and carry forward with this radio school and our weekly programs. We are volunteers. We are teachers, learners, encouragers, and pray-ers. And we are believers in the power of one. A Personal Reflection As a broadcaster and teacher who’s been around the block a few times, I often think about the old days when a gentleman always wore a tie. I still enjoy a good purple one now and then—especially during Holy Week. But more important than ties and traditions is what we pass along: the marks we leave in our books, in our work, and in the lives of others. I often highlight passages with a big red pencil, hoping someday someone—maybe my daughters—will read those lines and understand what mattered most to me. This week, I revisited a powerful resource: 30 Days with E. Stanley Jones: Global Teacher and Social Justice Prophet by Rev. John (Jack) Harnish. In Chapter Two, Jack writes about “The Power of One”—and that’s what truly grabbed me. It’s a truth I’ve always believed in and one I try to live out in my business coaching, teaching, and broadcasting. You start with one. One idea. One effort. One act of courage. One prayer. And that’s enough to change a life—and sometimes, the world. Life Lessons from the Power of One Let me share a few takeaways that might stick with you and inspire your journey: 🔹 One person can make all the difference. Never underestimate the value of your quiet encouragement, your persistent faithfulness, or your unseen acts of service. 🔹 Start small, stay faithful. Everything meaningful begins with one—one thought, one call, one yes. Don’t despise small beginnings. 🔹 You might be someone’s Nellie Logan. The person you encourage today might become the Stanley Jones of tomorrow. 🔹 Mark what matters. In your books, in your life, in your heart—leave signs of what’s important. It might guide someone someday. 🔹 Look for your “one thing.” As the cowboy said in the film City Slickers, life is about finding your one thing. Ask God to show you yours. A Closing Challenge: Be the One So here’s my heartfelt challenge to you: Be the one. Be the one who believes. Be the one who shows up. Be the one who writes, speaks, prays, teaches, helps. The world doesn’t need another superstar—it needs faithful ones. Everyday heroes. Silent warriors. People of presence and purpose. During this Holy Week, as we walk toward Easter and reflect on the one who gave His all for us, let’s say: “Lord, help me be the one who does the one thing You’ve called me to do.” And if you feel stirred to help us carry on this mission—whether it’s as a prayer partner, a supporter, or even one of our seven new teachers—please reach out. Maybe this is your one thing. You can contact me at Stan@WITRadio.net. Let’s talk, pray, and perhaps, begin something powerful—together. For now, blessings and peace to you. Remember: You could be the one who does the one great thing. — Stan the Radio Man Stanley Jones Radio School for Fully Alive Living
ThE Stanley Jones Radio School for "Fully Alive" Living now and forever with Stan Hustad
https://sites.libsyn.com/432450

https://assets.libsyn.com/secure/content/187137200"}
