Why do pastors shrink from a “political approach?” They are asked by campaigns to endorse their candidate, to stand with their candidate, some are even paid to do those things. Pastors have a higher calling - that calling is to God above and no party nor candidate warrants that type of honor. These are the biggest reasons pastors recoil when asked to be overtly political: a. They’ve been lied to intentionally by those who seek to keep the church from being influential; b. They’ve been burned before by political people who have taken advantage of the pastors in their area or state; c. They don’t know American history enough to know and grasp the traditional role of the pastor influencer in each community; d. They’re genuinely afraid of losing members or money and have lost their focus on Matt 28 admonition to disciple their people; e. They’re cowards who would rather not do anything “controversial” and hide behind their pulpits; www.FaithWins.org
Faith Wins Podcast
http://faithwins.libsyn.com/website

https://assets.libsyn.com/secure/item/34675035"}
