But the first-century Christians had neither. These letters gave them life. Written by John, one of the OG disciples, in his latter years, these letters are shorter in length than his first, the gospel according to John, and they emphasize the need to obey God\u2019s commands while focusing on the love of God for us and our need to love one another as proof of our love for God.
