{"version":1,"type":"rich","provider_name":"Libsyn","provider_url":"https:\/\/www.libsyn.com","height":90,"width":600,"title":"Barometers","description":" I was recently reading the September\/October 2022 issue of \u201cScience &amp;amp; Children\u201d a publication of the National Science Teaching Association.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;In this issue, I read the Science 101 column, written by Matt Bobrowsky.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;He wrote a column entitled, \u201cDo You Have a Weather-Related Activity That My Students Would Enjoy?\u201d&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;   In this column, Matt addressed two topics:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Air Pressure and Barometers.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;This lead me to do a two-part podcast series.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The previous podcast looked at the topic of air pressure and how it can be explained to students and this podcast will deal with the tool that measures air pressure - barometers.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The air that surrounds us and surrounds the Earth is called air pressure.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;So, the pressure in the air surrounding us is called atmospheric pressure.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;An instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure is called a barometer.
