She recently started Chinatown Runners, which is \u201ca collective of runners around the world, formed by the community, for the community.\u201d Their mission is to \u201cuse running to protect and give back to our local Chinatowns and any other AAPI-centric neighborhoods.\u201d She started the group last year after seeing a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes and has encouraged runners of all backgrounds to join in order to keep the community safe, spread awareness, and celebrate the diverse heritages of these neighborhoods. In this conversation, we also peel back the layers of Vic\u2019s own personal running journey, including some reflections on her first marathon training cycle years ago and the ways running helped her prioritize her own wellness.
