This turning point was the start of Dallas\u2019 healing journey and their long effort to advocate for themselves and advocate for their case within the NYPD. According to Dallas, through sharing their story with others \u201cI found community around a shared sense of harm and the equally powerful shared desire for healing.\u201d  Survivor Desdemona Dallas is a photographer, filmmaker and advocate. Desdemona is the creator of Survivor\u2019s Toolbox which uses various media to bring education and resources to survivors.
