Now Innovating: Training the Body to Prevent Stroke and Beyond

In this episode of Now Innovating, a research-to-impact series at the University of Calgary, we explore a physician's research and innovation journey to diagnose and prevent the conditions that increase the risk of stroke and dementia. We speak to Dr. Aravind Ganesh, MD'12, DPhil; an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Cumming School of Medicine. As a cognitive and vascular neurologist, he is validating a medical device to train the body to prevent stroke - which is also in clinical trials for M.S. treatment, as well as developing AI tools to ease the burden for neuroimaging analysis for future research. Ganesh also discusses his experience in health innovation pitch competitions and as CEO of research crowdfunding and collaboration platform, Let's Get Proof.
