Hello, and welcome to "Beauty and the Biz," where we'll discuss the business and marketing side of plastic surgery. As always, I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of "Your Aesthetic Practice – What Your Patients Are Saying." and consultant to plastic surgeons, helping them get more patients and more profits. How to Leave a Practice with Relationships Intact. Dr. Neil Vranis shares what he learned inside an elite Beverly Hills practice before opening his own. Notably, I speak with Dr. Neil Vranis in this week’s "Beauty and the Biz" podcast. Undoubtedly, he is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Beverly Hills. Previously, he completed his fellowship with world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Ashkan Ghavami. Subsequently, Dr. Vranis was invited to join the practice. Notably, he became its first associate surgeon. Thereafter, he spent the next three years learning firsthand. Specifically, he learned what it takes to operate inside an elite, highly competitive aesthetic practice. Eventually, he made the decision to open his own boutique office. Importantly, this represents The Smart Way to Transition from Associate to Owner. Fortunately, it was not a bitter breakup. Instead, it was a thoughtful and respectful transition. Chiefly, this move was based on communication, gratitude and a shared desire to preserve the relationship. Additionally, Dr. Vranis shares valuable lessons about What Every Junior Associate Should Know Before Going Solo. Particularly, he discusses joining an established surgeon’s practice and earning the team’s respect. Furthermore, he explains why a senior surgeon must actively position and market an associate. Obviously, they cannot simply hope patients choose them. Moreover, he reveals how to build your own reputation while practicing under a well-known surgeon’s name. Interestingly, he believes many solo practices are operationally inefficient. Likewise, he details how to know when there is no longer room to grow. Ultimately, he teaches the mature way to leave a practice with relationships intact. Undeniably, one of the biggest takeaways is that a respected surgeon’s name can open doors. However, patients ultimately choose the surgeon rather than just the practice name. Regardless, this is an honest conversation worth hearing. Certainly, it applies whether you are considering bringing on an associate or deciding to venture out on your own. P.S. Finally, my new "Beauty and the Biz Practice Growth Playbook" shares practical pearls from top surgeons. Specifically, these tips cover growth, leadership, patient attraction and building a practice that lasts. Accordingly, this helps whether you are just starting out, growing or planning your exit. Resources for Plastic Surgeons: 📕 Get the Beauty and the Biz Practice Growth Playbook: https://bit.ly/4cZNSuD 📊 Schedule a Practice Performance Audit: https://bit.ly/4dC2znZ 🎧 Listen to more Beauty and the Biz episodes: https://bit.ly/4aqQ2Su 🌐 Visit Catherine Maley: https://bit.ly/4eFlLR6 Enjoy, Catherine Maley, MBA Author, Consultant and Host of "Beauty and the Biz" 🔄 LET'S CONNECT: 📸 Instagram: https://bit.ly/4aVlqZn 🤝 LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/4anhDny Visit Dr. Vranis' Website #BeautyAndTheBiz #PlasticSurgeryPodcast #PlasticSurgeryMarketing #AestheticPracticeMarketing #CosmeticPracticeGrowth #CatherineMaley
