In the story, Baba Yaga (Carroll Baker) is a mysterious witch occupying a creepy presumably abandoned mansion who sets her eyes on Valentina for a secretive agenda she may, or may not, share with the audience. The film is more of an artsy exploration of the source material featuring many of its exploitive aspects. Does it succeed as a horror (adjacent) movie?
