When Success Makes You Forget God | Hosea 13
The greatest danger in your life may not be failure—it may be success that slowly causes you to forget God. Summary Hosea 13 exposes the hidden root behind Israel’s spiritual collapse: they prospered, became self-sufficient, and gradually forgot God. What appeared to be problems like idolatry, rebellion, and national decline were only symptoms of a deeper issue—spiritual amnesia. The chapter warns that success, comfort, and abundance can quietly disciple people away from dependence on God if they are not careful. Yet in the middle of judgment comes a stunning promise of redemption, pointing forward to Jesus Christ, who would ransom and redeem those who have wandered far from God.
