  <title>PUA1</title>
<description>In this episode, I give an intro to &amp;quot;pickup artistry&amp;quot; from the POV of a rogue anthropologist &amp;amp;amp; observer of the niche. This stuff was a HUGE special interest for me at a really critical time of my life, and so much of my brain was evolving in conjunction with my fascination for PUA. My own relationship to the industry is definitely one of an &amp;quot;original experience&amp;quot; and so I'm keen to share this multiple-part story time!&amp;amp;nbsp; I've been wanting to have some form of a &amp;quot;tell-all&amp;quot; on my experience learning &amp;quot;attraction&amp;quot; from the PUAs (pick up artists) and then later how I started working with them. The chance to work with them totally shaped my existence, since it gave me access to marketing+operations experience. So it changed the entire plot of what became available to me. It's been years since I've been associated with that entity and I'm beyond it now. However, my own brand title &amp;quot;Social Dynamics Nerd&amp;quot; is piggybacking off of company names from the PUA industry. This is intentional on my end... I am a romantic, and I think it is actually adorably precious of me to STEAL the legacy associated to some of my initial role models. Especially because my own role models had stolen from their mentors, while also building a business around my age... This is the gift that keeps on giving. The difference is: I'm looking to build an entity around &amp;quot;social skills&amp;quot;, not just &amp;quot;cold approach&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;pickup&amp;quot;. This lore is very SPENCER, and these stories have to be told so that I can lean into all future YO AHORA conversations as absolutely &amp;quot;SPENCER&amp;quot; as can be. You know?! Before we get into my own personal involvement, this episode is really focused on world-building PUA for those who have no clue what it is or how big it was. So this is all a &amp;quot;101&amp;quot; type of intro on the whole matter... Here's what this episode covers: Opening up the conversation around the industry How I stumbled upon the material (unintentionally) How the material hooked my curiosity and why How PUA started getting big (from the 90s into the early 2000s) Who were the significant thought-leaders in these years And then I wrap up the episode covering this: Things from PUA that I didn't like but found to be valuable Things that I DEFINITELY do not like (non negotiable no's) Things I liked from PUA that I STILL like (attraction principles) Then in &amp;quot;PUA2&amp;quot;, the following episode, we will start to move the story along and how I actually got very closely involved in my late teens/early 20s, and why/how this happened... In &amp;quot;PUA3&amp;quot; we go further, and &amp;quot;PUA4&amp;quot; even further into lore... There WILL be a &amp;quot;PUA5&amp;quot;. It has not been recorded and it won't come any time too soon. For the sake of my own reputation and safety, I'm just gonna sit on that final instalment and test the temperature as these initial episodes release. For any uninvolved listener, this is all hullabaloo, but for me... I just wanna be smart. Some people from the industry are shady.&amp;amp;nbsp; And the &amp;quot;PUA5&amp;quot; instalment will be the most critical, and so I wanna be the most mindful when the time comes.
