In 2025, Pete won the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival Flash Fiction Competition, adding to a growing list of accolades that recognise his versatility and narrative precision. His short fiction collection 'Read My Shorts' features 38 standout stories such as No Second Chances, Bobby's Jumper and Beware the Golden Hamster, each showcasing his flair for distinctive voice and resonant themes—spanning homelessness, speculative politics, dark humour and suburban secrets.
