A Professor Emeritus at UCSF, he helped integrate PACS and EMR systems, advanced clinical and educational workflows, and authored foundational work including numerous peer-reviewed papers. He created the first human dual-energy CT images, led major informatics initiatives as UCSF Vice Chair, founded UCSF’s ACGME Clinical Informatics Fellowship, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Digital Imaging.
