Warning: This Episode May Make You Want to Run | Jeffrey Weiss

On this week’s episode of Sports Will Save Us All, Sasha sits down with Jeffrey Weiss—author of the wildly inspiring book Racing Against Time. Jeffrey didn’t lace up for his first 10K until the age of 48, but once he did, he never looked back. In his 50s and early 60s he went on to complete more marathons than most people care to count, knocked out two Ironman races, survived twice the notoriously brutal 56-mile ultramarathon in South Africa, and somehow decided that wasn’t enough… so he ran a 72-mile ultramarathon around Tahoe for good measure. In this conversation, Jeffrey shares what pushed him to start running later in life, how he built the mental and physical toughness to keep going, and why he believes it’s never too late to chase something big. And yes, Sasha admits she’s a bit irritated with him—because his book is so good, so compelling, and so annoyingly motivating that she’s now wondering whether her long-held “13.1 miles is my limit” belief might not be true after all. If you’ve ever thought you were too old, too busy, or too late to try something new, Jeffrey’s story might just convince you otherwise.
