Here in the United States, the holiday called halloween is upon us. Ghosts, witches, bats, and violence are all around us which are supposed to arouse fear.
For us alcoholics, fear is an old companion. One that was probably dealt with early on in recovery, it just comes back to visit us occasionally.
So let’s talk about fear, and let’s start by talking what it used to be like.
Before you came into the program, where you a fearful person?

But here on the Recovered Podcast, we are about the solution.
Let’s talk about the solution.
How did 4th and 5th steps help you with your fears?
How about step 9?
What about service work?
How about sponsorship?
How did other aspects of the program help you with your fears?
What slogan, what step, what tradition, what service, what prayer, etc.?
What fears are battling today?
What slogan, what step, what tradition, what service, what prayer, etc.?
All right, let’s conclude the show by talking to the most important listener, the new guy.
Talk to the new guy who is overcome with fear.
Talk to the guy who has never been to a meeting and knows he has a problem and is fearful of AA.
What would you say to this person?
What advice would you give to these people?
