  <title>Romans 8:12-30 - What You Have in Christ</title>
<description>Welcome to the Romans 8 Podcast! Mike and Kevin share their insights from the Book of Romans as they dive into Romans 8:12-30. 12&amp;amp;nbsp;Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.&amp;amp;nbsp;13&amp;amp;nbsp;For if you live according to the flesh, you will die;&amp;amp;nbsp;but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body,&amp;amp;nbsp;you will live. 14&amp;amp;nbsp;For those who are led by the Spirit of God&amp;amp;nbsp;are the children of God.&amp;amp;nbsp;15&amp;amp;nbsp;The Spirit&amp;amp;nbsp;you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;&amp;amp;nbsp;rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry,&amp;amp;nbsp;“Abba, Father.”&amp;amp;nbsp;16&amp;amp;nbsp;The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit&amp;amp;nbsp;that we are God’s children.&amp;amp;nbsp;17&amp;amp;nbsp;Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings&amp;amp;nbsp;in order that we may also share in his glory. Present Suffering and Future Glory 18&amp;amp;nbsp;I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.&amp;amp;nbsp;19&amp;amp;nbsp;For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God&amp;amp;nbsp;to be revealed.&amp;amp;nbsp;20&amp;amp;nbsp;For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it,&amp;amp;nbsp;in hope&amp;amp;nbsp;21&amp;amp;nbsp;that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay&amp;amp;nbsp;and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 22&amp;amp;nbsp;We know that the whole creation has been groaning&amp;amp;nbsp;as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.&amp;amp;nbsp;23&amp;amp;nbsp;Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,&amp;amp;nbsp;groan&amp;amp;nbsp;inwardly as we wait eagerly&amp;amp;nbsp;for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.&amp;amp;nbsp;24&amp;amp;nbsp;For in this hope we were saved.&amp;amp;nbsp; But hope that is seen is no hope at all.&amp;amp;nbsp;Who hopes for what they already have?&amp;amp;nbsp;25&amp;amp;nbsp;But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26&amp;amp;nbsp;In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit&amp;amp;nbsp;himself intercedes for us&amp;amp;nbsp;through wordless groans.&amp;amp;nbsp;27&amp;amp;nbsp;And he who searches our hearts&amp;amp;nbsp;knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes&amp;amp;nbsp;for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. 28&amp;amp;nbsp;And we know that in all things God works for the good&amp;amp;nbsp;of those who love him, who[i]&amp;amp;nbsp;have been called&amp;amp;nbsp;according to his purpose.&amp;amp;nbsp;29&amp;amp;nbsp;For those God foreknew&amp;amp;nbsp;he also predestined&amp;amp;nbsp;to be conformed to the image of his Son,&amp;amp;nbsp;that he might be the firstborn&amp;amp;nbsp;among many brothers and sisters.&amp;amp;nbsp;30&amp;amp;nbsp;And those he predestined,&amp;amp;nbsp;he also called;&amp;amp;nbsp;those he called, he also justified;&amp;amp;nbsp;those he justified, he also glorified.
