Dr. Bettez teaches about issues of social justice in the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Department here with me (Tiffany) at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her scholarship centralizes social justice with a focus on fostering critical community building, teaching for social justice, and promoting equity through intercultural communication and engagement. This year we’ve chosen to focus a little less on how the work gets done and a little more on who we are in the work. That translates to ongoing attention to how we’re showing up and purposeful self-examination.
