Steven Kiernan is a fiction writer and activist.&amp;nbsp; He is a veteran of the Iraq War and&amp;nbsp; U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an infantryman from 2005-2010.&amp;nbsp; During that time, he was wounded in an IED blast which resulted in the amputation of both legs and spent two years recovering at Walter Reed Army Hospital.&amp;nbsp; After being medically discharged he received a BA in English Literature from the University of Virginia and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Oregon.&amp;nbsp; His work has appeared in&amp;nbsp;Kenyon Review Online, The Wrath-Bearing Tree,&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;O-Dark-Thirty,&amp;nbsp;and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.&amp;nbsp; He currently lives in Eugene, OR with his wife and two dogs.
