<title>244 Dr Aaron Carroll and Human Rights Lawyer/Author Qasim Rashid</title>
<description>Dr Aaron Carroll is one of my closest friends and one of the finest people I know. He is one of the most reasonable and thoughtful guys as well. His most recent NY Times Op Ed is &amp;quot;Yes, People Are Traveling for the Holidays. Stop Shaming Them.&amp;quot; It has caused quite a firestorm of sanctimony, judgement and hate online and that is one reason to definitely give it a read. He is a professor of pediatrics and associate dean for research mentoring at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also vice president for&amp;amp;nbsp;faculty development at&amp;amp;nbsp; The Regenstrief Institute. Dr.&amp;amp;nbsp;Carroll's research focuses on the study of information technology to improve pediatric care and areas of health policy including cost-effectiveness of care and health care financing reform. He is the author of&amp;amp;nbsp; The Bad Food Bible&amp;amp;nbsp;and the co-author&amp;amp;nbsp;of three additional books on medical myths. Subscribe to his YouTube Channel Buy his books Read him at The NY Times My second guest on today's show is Qasim Rashid whose work I learned about on Twitter and followed and supported his run for US Congress in Virginia's 1st district. Qasim Rashid is a human rights lawyer and author. His new book is for kids and it's called Hannah and the Ramadan gift. We had a really great talk bout several issues and I hope he will become a regular guest Pete on Twitter Pete On Instagram Pete Personal FB page Stand Up with Pete FB page Please consider a&amp;amp;nbsp;paid subscription&amp;amp;nbsp;to this daily podcast.
