Kandel, a mentor, a teacher, author, and leader of multiple journalism organizations, over the decades, celebrated his 90th birthday in March 2020. In this special News Luminaries oral history, he reflects on his early days at CNN and his fellow Moneyline pioneers, including Reese Schonfeld, Lou Dobbs, Stuart Varney, and the late Dan Dorfman.
